Sports Training & Sports Injury Rehab

Evaluation

We perform an extensive evaluation and learn your athletic goals to develop a plan to address your specific problems and get you back in the game.

Treatments

Your treatment plan will vary upon your condition and injury. Possible treatments could include:

  Manual Therapy

  • Joint Mobilization
  • Soft Tissue Mobilization
  • Myofacial release
  • Massage
  • Strain/Counterstrain
  • Range of motion (stretching)
  • ASTYM system (this needs to be a link to the ASTYM page)

  Active Decompression

Walking on a body-weight-supported treadmill, (a treadmill with a harness for suspension) or walking on an underwater treadmill (using buoyancy) will decreases the pressure on the affected joints or bones. Active Decompression enables the athlete to remain active through the rehabilitation process, maintain optimal fitness, and increase healing by bringing a supply of oxygenated blood to the injured area.

  Strengthen and Stabilize

You will be taught and supervised as you do Active Rehabilitation (Exercises) which will build your strength and your muscles to sustain the demand of your required activity level.

  Modalities

You might receive other treatment tools such as: heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation to decrease pain and inflammation.

  Education

You will learn the limits and stages of recovery. You will know how to properly strengthen and stretch, as well as when to push and when to rest.

  Custom Splints

Our therapists are skilled in making custom and durable splints for both stabilization and injury prevention.

Common uses for custom splints

  • Fractures, sprains, and dislocations of the hand, fingers, and arm
  • Protective splinting of face, arms and hands for various sports, such as: basketball, soccer, football, sledding, luge, etc.
