Our highly-trained physical therapists specialize in the treatment of back pain and will work you in reaching your highest level of rehabilitation. Our Specialists are extensively trained in using a variety of specific treatments for back pain.

Evaluation

Our Spine Program begins with an extensive evaluation and development
of a plan to address your specific problems.

Treatments

Manual Therapy

A high intensity of manual therapy is used in our program. These include:

• Joint Mobilization
• Soft Tissue Mobilization
• Myofacial release
• Massage
• Spine Stabilization
• Strain/Counterstrain

Decompression

When appropriate, the therapist may include types of traction to take the weight off the injured disc. This is done with either passive traction or by Active Decompression – walking on a body-weight-supported treadmill, (a treadmill with a harness for suspension) or walking in on an underwater treadmill where buoyancy decreases the pressure on the disc. Active Decompression decompresses the disc while bringing a supply of oxygenated blood to the injured area optimizing the conditions for healing.

Strengthen and Stabilize

You will be taught and supervised as you do Active Rehabilitation (Exercises) which will build your core strength and your muscles that support healthy posture and movement.

Modalities

You might receive other treatment tools such as: heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation to decrease pain and inflammation.

Back School / Education on Injury Prevention

Learn how to sit, stand, and sleep without back pain. Learn the causes of back injury and disease. You will also receive training on activity changes. This education and training will give you the knowledge and tools to maintain your recovery and return to living your life.

Pain Management and Back to Work Program

If you are left with chronic back pain, compassionate therapists will work with you and your pain management physicians to regain and maintain your best possible functional movement, strength, and conditioning in order to get you back to the important activities of life.
